5 tips to relieve the soles of the feet

Every day, they support and cushion the weight of the body when you walk, jump, run... So you have to pamper them as often as possible. Our advice to soothe pain, stiffness and overheating.

1. WE RELAX THEM

Morning and evening, standing, roll a tennis ball under one foot , pressing from the toes to the heel several times over the entire surface of the soles (from front to back, from back to front, on the sides...). For 1 minute for each foot. Then place the ball under the front of the foot and press firmly for about 10 seconds, while exhaling. Start again under the middle of the foot, then under the back, up to the heel . Repeat 2 or 3 times for each foot.

2. WE SOFTEN THEM

By stretching the Achilles tendons . Standing on a stair step, resting on the front of the feet, exhale while directing the heels into space until you feel a stretch in the back of the ankles and calves . Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds. Repeat 3 to 5 times, increasing the amplitude of the stretch as you go.

3. WE BATHE THEM

To relax them at the end of the day, nothing better than a hot foot bath with a few drops of mint or lavender essential oil  ! In case of pain and/or overheating, prepare two basins: one with cold water and one with hot water. Immerse your feet in it for 2 to 3 minutes before plunging them into the basin of cold water for 1 minute. Repeat 3 times and finish with a cold water rinse. Relief guaranteed!

4. WE MASSAGE THEM

Catch the top of the right foot with the right hand. With the left thumb, pressing well, draw an imaginary line in the middle of the arch, starting from the heel and going up towards the toes. Start drawing this line again starting from the heel towards each of the toes. Place the right thumb under the second toe and the left thumb under the third. The other fingers are on top of the foot. Smooth firmly with the thumbs on each side towards the outside of the foot. Repeat over the entire surface of the sole until you reach the heel. Start again on the left foot.

5. WE WEAR THE RIGHT SHOES

In summer, we are tempted to put on flip flops , mules, ballet flats, wedge sandals... So many shoes that do not support the arch of the foot enough, are too flat or too rigid and can increase the risk of pain in the ankles. feet. The ideal shoe must support the foot well without compressing it; it has a 2 to 3 cm heel . If you walk a lot, shoes with cushioning in the heel are recommended.
